Michael Nutter Elected as Mayor of Philadelphia

We congratulate Mr. Edgar Howard for his recent assignment as Executive Director of the Veteran's Advisory Commission Mr. Howard can be reached @ 215-686-3256; email: edgar.a.howard@phila.gov: Office located in City Hall Room 494; Ass't Joyce MeKeown

The National Alliance of Women Veterans congratulates Mr. Nutter for his recent victory as mayor-elect of Philadelphia. We also will be watching to see how he deals with the present and mounting issues concerning veterans. The newly appointed Veterans Advisory Commission which initialized having their first meeting on Monday (according to Joe Waters appointee) will be reporting to the mayor as well as the City Council President. This all should be very interesting since the commission has been dormant for the past five years. Ed Lowery is the one appointee who has a standing history with the commission as well as a constant role in the veterans community. Mr. Lowery is the Director of the Veterans Multi-Service and Education Center for the past 12 years. Please call for further information and for veterans services: 215 923-2600

Philadelphia Activates Veteran's Advisory Commission

For more information click here: It is about time after five years being dormant and after much suffering of many veterans in the city. Homelessness, lack of jobs and just out-right inhumane mistreatment of this community seemingly has received much needed attention. Let us pray that the suffering will cease and those who have sacrificed their lives can begin to have some hope and begin to have some normalcy in their lives.
